With a 1:53.877 Alfonso Ruiz set the fastest lap of FP1. Together with Iwan Bremer the two Martinis put Nihad Gluscic under pressure.
WTEC 2021. Coming this Sunday, the WTEC will have it’s penultimate race of the season at Suzuka. Of the three title contenders only Nihad Gluscic managed to get on track for FP1 and set a 1:55.025. A decent time, as we expect a gain of at least half a second until qualifying on Sunday.
Team Martini confirmed their strength after Alfonso Ruiz took P2 at Spa, and it seems they have finally sorted out their problems. With the fastest lap of FP1 Ruiz put himself in the fight for Pole Position on Sunday, and Iwan Bremer’s Longrun Pace in the low 1:55s gives him all the chances in the race.
Asked on the awakened challenger Kapeller said “I knew that Alfonso and Iwan would be in the fight for the top as soon as they manage to sort out their problems. And now that they began streaming on twitch it seems like a new power has emerged in the fbl. But we didn’t sleep either.”
